TAX AGENT SERVICES ACT DISCLOSURES

 

Tax Agent Disclosure Statement


As a Registered Tax Agent, our services are provided in accordance with the Tax Agent Services Act 2009. Under this Act, the Tax Agent Services (Code of Professional Conduct) Determination 2024 requires us to make the following disclosures to you:

Matters that could significantly influence your decision to engage us (or continue to engage us) for a Tax Agent Service from 1 July 2022 onwards include the following:
a. None applicable.


The Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) maintains a public register of registered Tax Agents and BAS Agents. You can search this register here: TPB Public Register.


Complaints Handling Procedure


If you have a complaint about our Tax Agent services, please follow this process:

  1. Initial Contact – Contact your accountant at Online Tax Agents & Business Services by email, outlining the details of your complaint. We will attempt to resolve the matter within 3 business days.
     
  2. Escalation – If your complaint is not resolved, please contact Mayura Rathnayake – Principal Tax Agent by email. Where possible, your complaint will be investigated by Mayura or another senior team member who is not directly involved in the matter.
     
  3. Acknowledgement – We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint by email, confirming our understanding of the issue and outlining the dispute resolution process.
     
  4. Resolution Timeline – We will aim to resolve your complaint within 14 days.
     

If you are dissatisfied with our proposed resolution, you can lodge a complaint directly with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) via the TPB Complaints Page. The TPB will acknowledge your complaint and conduct a review and risk assessment.


If you remain dissatisfied with how the TPB has handled your complaint, the above link also provides information on your review rights and the agencies that can further assist you.
